An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 shook the Sinaloa region off Mexico’s coast on Tuesday, as per seismic reports. Tremors from the quake were felt in multiple nearby areas, including El Progreso, Guasave, Leyva Solano, and Culiacán, causing concern among residents.
The U.S. Geological Survey pinpointed the epicenter approximately 75 kilometers southwest of El Progreso, with the event occurring around 12:45 pm local time. While residents across various towns experienced brief tremors, there have been no confirmed reports of significant damage or casualties at this time.
Despite the quake’s offshore location near the Gulf of California, authorities have stated there is no tsunami threat. Emergency response teams are actively monitoring the situation for any potential aftershocks or delayed reports of damage. This incident follows a series of recent seismic activities globally, including devastating earthquakes in Venezuela that resulted in considerable destruction and numerous casualties.
