Cambodia and Cuba have formalized a partnership to enhance cooperation in tourism through a newly signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). Cambodian Tourism Minister Huot Hak and Milena Caridad Zaldívar Piedra, Cuba’s Ambassador to Cambodia, signed the agreement in Siem Reap province.
The MoU sets a framework for collaboration between the tourism authorities of the two nations. It aims to foster tourism development, facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience, and broaden Cambodia’s tourism market into Latin America. The agreement is grounded in the principles of equality and mutual benefit, seeking to create new opportunities for tourism cooperation.
Dating back to 1960, Cambodia and Cuba have a longstanding history of diplomatic relations. This new agreement marks a further step in strengthening their bilateral ties, focusing on tourism as a pivotal area of mutual interest.
